NEW SINGLE: LETTING GO
COMING SOON!
‘Letting Go’ is an indie track infused with subtle rock elements that emerge powerfully during the second phrase of the final chorus. The song delves into the personal journey of releasing burdens that no longer serve us, inspired by moments in life marked by struggle, darkness, and hardship. Through heartfelt lyrics, it expresses the pivotal realisation that sometimes, the only way forward is to let go… to free oneself from the pain and know that the ‘ghosts of the past will fade’, paving the way toward healing and wholeness.
Rooted in deep reflection, ‘Letting Go’ serves as a reminder that everything in life is temporary. Whether it's relationships, environments, or the remnants of past decisions, holding on too tightly can weigh us down. This song encourages acceptance and the courage to move on despite feeling like you’re at a crossroads, underscoring that letting go is not just an end, but also a beginning full of potential and growth.
New Album: EPHEMERAL
UPCOMING:
Album art is still being worked on and is likely to change before release.
My upcoming album, EPHEMERAL, is an ambient indie/indie-folk project with subtle hints of indie-rock that draw upon my rock roots. It explores the transient nature of emotions in love, life and loss, capturing how quickly everything can shift and emphasising the fragile, temporary quality of our experiences. The album is deeply personal, weaving stories of pain and vulnerability I've faced throughout different areas of my life and the fleeting emotions that come with these experiences.
Some tracks are inspired by particular individuals who have left a significant imprint on me and my life; both good and bad. The closing song, Letting Go, is notably one of the first singles to be released - an ironic choice given that it’s actually positioned as the last song on the album. It offers a simple yet profound message about release and healing with lyrics like, ‘release yourself from the pain, you know the past will fade, and some day you'll feel whole again.’
Over the three years it has taken to create this album, marked by perfectionism, personal struggles, and life changes, I’ve come to understand the delicate nature of life and the importance of letting go of what is no longer serving me and surrendering the past in order to embrace the future.
The album art that you see for the album here is something I made in Apple’s pro-create. It originally started out as a blurry photograph that I took of some trees next to the lake where I live during winter, and over time it has morphed into this highly symbolic piece of art. To achieve this I used photo manipulation and distortion. I know personally what all the symbolism means and what I intended for it to be, but I have created it in such a way that it can be interpreted in any way by whoever views it. When I first started out with the original image of the blurry trees I was just going to be rather boring and keep that as the album cover with the title on. This art came about when I was editing the photo. It happened so naturally and the symbolism was starting to show immediately so I knew from the start I was creating something quite significant.
