Born on the 8th of August in the UK, Sophie A. P. Higginson is recognised as a versatile, multi-faceted creative entrepreneur and artist, best known as a highly regarded musician, singer-songwriter, audio engineer, producer, photographer, and CEO of Pteryla Records.
Soph is driven by a singular vision: to create meaningful art that resonates deeply, inspires connection, and leaves a lasting impact.

Music Career:

Music has always been at the heart of Sophie’s life. From a very early age she discovered in sound a universal language capable of expressing what words could not. That discovery grew into a career shaped by creativity, precision, and technical expertise.

Sophie has already had a phenomenal start to her career and has worked with some of the world’s most prestigious record labels, including Universal Music, where she contributed as a producer, and audio engineer, collaborating with other artists and making valuable connections. Though most of her time contributing these skills to the project were mostly online, she has also been able to visit Abbey Road Studios in the process; a real dream come true for Sophie. While some of her experiences have been truly incredible, others have taught her so much about the industry and its flaws; further pushing the vision she had for her own record label and confirmed her as a creator who could balance emotional integrity with industry-level “standards”.

As a qualified music producer and audio engineer with expertise in every stage of the creative process, Higginson brings an unusually broad skillset to her craft; from songwriting, arrangement and conducting, to production, mixing and mastering. She is as comfortable designing the intricate architecture of a track as she is penning heartfelt lyrics. This level of creativity and technical precision has made her a trusted collaborator, elevating not only her own music but also the work of the other artists, producers, musicians and anyone else that she collaborates with.
